I've never been in therapy. What should I expect?

Welcome! Starting therapy is a beautiful gift to give yourself. While it can feel scary and even overwhelming to take this first step, it puts you on a path of healing. We will move at your pace and tune into what you need in the moment to reach your goals. While therapy can be hard work at times, it is this hard work that will create positive change in your life and in your well being.

What is the duration and frequency for therapy?

The therapeutic process is reliant on our relationship and on me getting to know and understand what is causing you distress. The duration and frequency of therapy varies depending on your needs, but I typically recommend 45 minute weekly sessions, especially in the beginning of our work together. If weekly sessions are not possible or desirable, then we can discuss a plan that would work better for you. I also provide sessions via phone and video for convenience.

Do you accept Insurance?

While I currently do not accept insurance, I am an Out of Network Provider. If you have Out of Network benefits with your insurance, then you will pay me directly and be reimbursed for sessions. I will provide you with monthly receipts to submit to your insurance company.

What should I ask my insurance company?

I would suggest asking your insurance company for specific details about your Out of Network benefits, including if you have a deductible, how much is your deductible, and how much you will be reimbursed for sessions.

What types of payments do you accept?

I accept cash, credit cards, checks, Chase Quick Pay/Zelle, and Venmo.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Please cancel with at least 48 hours notice from the start time of your session or you will be charged the full session fee.
