About Me

About Monica NastasiI have over 8 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Social Work from New York University. Before attending NYU, I worked as a Neurofeedback Technician in a holistic health clinic providing cutting edge noninvasive brain training services to children, teenagers, and adults. While pursuing my MSW, I interned with New York Presbyterian Hospital in their Pediatric Outpatient Clinic as a child and family therapist and at an Day Treatment Center with adults suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. I then went on to work for a Day Treatment School for emotionally disturbed youth, ages 3-21 as a child and family therapist and later as a school counselor developing and implementing a counseling program.

My own journey in healing and self discovery has led me to fully understand the beauty and power of meditation and mindfulness practices. I have studied Buddhist theory and spirituality in the Shambhala lineage, as well as have taken and continue to take courses in meditation, mindfulness, body awareness, and intuition. I have trained in teaching mindfulness and yoga to youth of all ages. I am a Reiki Master, and I continue to be educated and trained in the best therapeutic practices to support my clients’ needs.
